The 14 Day “We Got This” Challenge

Just joining us? That’s awesome. Welcome! Here’s what you missed…

Day 1 – Meal Planning

Tuesday, March 17th

The reason why we started out with this step on a business day is to calm the mind. When we feel unprepared, we won’t work well within our business. The more prepared you are the more calm and ready you will feel. I know a lot of us have been hitting the stores gathering what we can to make sure our families are fed for a little bit. If you haven’t yet, let’s use today to make a plan for what your family will be eating for the next 14 days. Breakfast, lunch and dinner… write it out and get prepared. We made a handy print out or PDF fillable form for you to start. View more in the email link below.

Day 2 – Update Your Canned Emails

Wednesday, March 18th

Shifting today to talk about business. How many of your are guilty of typing out an email every.single.time?! ?‍♀️ How much time would it save to have that completely written out for you? Or if you do have your canned emails set up, are they all up to date? Do you catch yourself making changes to them too much? Today, set aside time to solely focus on creating or editing your canned emails where ever you have them (gmail, a crm, etc..) Did you know Instagram and Facebook DM’s have canned responses?! Heck ya. Get on that. View more in the email link below.

Day 3 – Stay Active

Thursday, March 19th

“Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy”

There is something about getting your heart pumping and the blood flowing that makes you feel a little better than you did before. See when we get active, our body is put into a controlled “stressed out” state. It works and works, and then you **conquer** it by ending that activity. This just tells our brain, “hey, you’re awesome, you overcame that, you rock!” This is the feeling of sweet endorphins doing their work.

I know some of us are busy homeschooling kids, juggling work, making dinner, etc…but it is just as important for us and how we handle daily stress to make it a point to get active everyday. Go on a walk, do some lunges in the backyard, chase your kids around outside, bicep curl those water jugs, just get moving! Your mind will thank you for it.

Day 4 – Gather and Give Testimonials

Friday, March 20th

Now is as good as time as any to gather testimonials from your past clients. Showcasing these great reviews on your website, Facebook Business page, or other review site will not only make you look great to future clients, but it will make you feel good too! 😉

In turn, take a moment to review 3 other small business you’ve worked with. You know the power of a good review. Go make someone’s day.

Day 5 – Declutter Time

Saturday, March 21th

We all have those drawers that drive us nuts every time we open it. They become the catch all for everything we want out of sight. But every time we open that drawer, unconsciously, our mind is “overwhelmed” with clutter and thinking about it. It is a waste of energy.

I know there might be more than one drawer, but take it one day at a time. Focus on one cabinet, one drawer, one dresser that might be overflowing with unnecessary items and clean it out. Take EVERYTHING out, wipe it down, and put back in only what you need. Find a home for the other items or throw it away.

Day 6 – Closet Purge

Sunday, March 22th

It’s the weekend so that is why we are focusing on home two days in a row. I am a fan of not doing any business items on the weekend so it becomes a great time to get the house in order!

Today we are picking one closet (yours, your kids, your spouse) and cleaning it out. We all have those items that we wear consistently, but for some reason feel the need to hang on to that jacket that “we will wear some day”. Or “I’ll fit into this…I just need to lose 10 pounds”. But think about it, every time you look at that sweater, you’ll think how you’re just not there yet, not good enough for that sweater. Give that thing away! Keep in your closet only items that you wear on a monthly basis. The less options you have the less work it is for your brain. Keep things simple.

Day 7 – Plan Your Content

Monday, March 23rd

So we had an entire IG strategy going until Mr. Corona decided he was going to take over. So this is a good time to plan out your social game and other content.

Today, sit down and plan out 2 weeks worth of social content through your favorite social app. Do you have a launch coming up? Are you wanted to engage your audience? Do you want them to know a little more about you? Do you have tips to share to get them through this crazy time? You have valuable content worth sharing. The most important part is just that you are showing up!

Day 8 – Phone Purge

Tuesday, March 23rd

“Ding, Ding, Ding” Sometimes notifications can really mess up my train of thought or conversation. Phones are great for connections, business and entertainment but when they become that need for our happiness, entertainment, and a necessity to pass the time…we might need to do some adjustments on our end. Have you ever taken a look at how much time you actually spend looking at that tiny rectangular screen each day? Do you catch yourself grabbing your phone when there is a “slow” moment? Do you feel like you always need to check in on things? Who emailed me, did someone respond to my post? Is your phone distracting you with pinging noises all day? If you feel like that and don’t like your screen time number, there are some easy things you can do to help clean up your phone time.

Few quick tips for keeping good phone health: Remove apps you don’t need. Turn off notifications on some apps. Set screen time boundaries for apps you feel you use too much.

We don’t need to be so available to everyone at every given moment. It is okay to let things sit for a bit. Set checkin points throughout the day that you can go in and check on your items.

Day 9 – Tighten up your SEO

Wednesday, March 24th

Today we are focusing on your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Having great SEO will allow your website to rank better in search engines (like Google). Ranking higher or on the first page of a search will drive more traffic to your website.

SEO is a long-term marketing strategy so what you do in the coming weeks can help you later in the year.

You can start today by doing things like:

? Updating your about me with recent photos of you.

? Add any links to where you were featured.

? Increase your social proof by spicing up your lingo. Instead of saying you’ve worked with multiple clients across a number of different fields, use the phrase ‘trusted by 5,000 web designers’

All tips in the link below.

Day 10 – Photo Organization

Thursday, March 25th

Most of our photo taking is on our phones now. Makes it super convenient to not carry around a camera all the time, but because of that, often our photos just get left on our phone to live there.

Instead, let’s get those photos organized using an automatic phone upload to cloud system like Dropbox. Everytime, you take a photo, it will add to your dropbox folder.

Then the awesome photos, let’s get them printed. There’s nothing like a printed photo we can hold and touch. @chatbooks makes it super easy to upload from your phone and order prints or books!

How do you like to organize your photos?

Day 11 – Email Marketing Revamp

Friday, March 27th

We love email marketing because it’s a safe bet. Unlike cultivating followers, with email marketing there’s no risk in losing your audience because you own every email. There’s no fighting new changes to algorithms that show your content to only a portion of your audience.

And the best part? Email marketing converts at least six times better than any other channel out there, so if you’re looking to ramp up your business goals, you’re making the right moves

Our friends at Flodesk listed out some great actionable steps to help in your email marketing!

Day 12 – Working from Home and Homeschooling

Saturday, March 28th

Today’s challenge is for all you parents out there. Just a few weeks ago you were a business owner and parent, but as of late you might have added “school teacher” to your resume.

It’s a whole new world to juggle life, business, and the education of your children. I have great respect for our teachers and all those who homeschool. You all are heros.

Now that this is new norm for a bit, we have to figure out a plan with how we will make this work and keep everyone happy.

I am excited to have fellow Dubsado user, business owner, and homeschooler super mom share some of her tips that have worked for her and her family over the years. We hope that you can steal a tip or two if you’re struggle in this area currently.

Day 13 – Tightening up Your Contracts

Sunday, March 29th

We are talking CONTRACTS this fine day! Today’s challenge is hosted by Dubsado user and attorney for creative entrepreneurs, Brittney Ratelle.

If you are having trouble with insomnia, here’s a hot tip — its CONTRACT time.

Look, we all know legal is about as fun as buying tires, but with so much business disruption from COVID-19, it’s a good time to look at our contracts and see where your legal obligations are at and form a plan of how you WANT to respond today, tomorrow, or weeks from now as we all begin to rebuild and move forward.

Brittney gave us 7 handy contract tips for COVID-19:

?Make sure you have a privacy policy in place

? Protecting your revenue stream and client relationships

? Make sure you have specific language for cancellations, etc..

? What is Force Majeure

? And do you fall under it?

? How to cancel as a service provider

✏️ Reminder to document it all

Day 14 – Treat Yourself

Monday, March 30th

TREAT YOURSELF! I’m not talking about some crazy full day of pampering (but if that’s what you need, do it). Just steal 10 mins, 20 mins, 1 hour from your day to center yourself…to do something you enjoy.

I talk about this a lot on here, but that is because I am a firm believer on filling yourself up so that you have enough to give to others.

It isn’t selfish. It is just what is needed so you can be the best you, you can be!

So go read a book, go on a walk, do a sweaty workout, drink some tea in silence hiding in your closet…Do what you need to do so you can feel refreshed.
